Hi, I’m Sarah-Beth (SB)!
TLDR: I just joined Regrow Ag, a company working to revolutionize the agriculture industry. Why? I am passionate about sustainability and believe that ag is the key area where we can make a significant impact.
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to work for companies that do well by doing good. I dedicated my career to HR/Work Tech by improving work life, helping people find jobs to do the best work of their careers, and most recently, by creating opportunity for front-line workers.
In November, my husband and I welcomed our daughter, Andie. People told us how parenthood would change us, but I don’t think we quite expected how much.
“Doing our part” to be good environmental stewards has always been a value in our household, but it took becoming parents to fully realize how we simply have not been doing enough. I am determined to ensure Andie knows that her mom did everything she could to fix the damage that generations before her created.
As I learned about Regrow and started researching regenerative agriculture, I learned that agriculture is currently the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gasses after the energy sector; in 2021, the United Nations estimated the food and agriculture value chain contributed 31% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. On the flip side, I learned that globally transitioning to regenerative farming practices could make agriculture a key part of the climate change solution. By one estimate, implementing the idea could sequester more than a billion tons of carbon per year globally, more than the emissions of the entire airline industry.
I also learned how critical the next seven years are for the future of our planet. A 2018 report by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (UNIPCC) set 2030 as the Climate Change deadline for GHG emissions to be halved in order to avoid catastrophic and irreversible effects of climate change. That means there are only seven harvests left between now and this critical deadline to make some major changes.
Most importantly, I learned that I could marry my love for managing and coaching marketing teams with my desire to make an impact. Regrow’s mission deeply resonated with me, so off I went. I’m thrilled to be joining Regrow as the Chief Marketing Officer to partner with CPGs, retailers, and agricultural producers realize their net-zero commitments over the next 10-30 years through regenerative agriculture.
Regrow’s goal is to help farmers around the world transition to regenerative agriculture practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and climate resilience. I was drawn to the idea of working towards a more sustainable and resilient food system. By using technology and data analytics, we’re able to provide farmers with real-time insights to make more informed decisions and improve their overall farm management practices. By promoting regenerative agriculture practices, we’re not only helping farmers increase their yields and profitability, but we’re also helping to mitigate climate change, preserve biodiversity, and promote food security.
I am proud to be part of a company that is working towards a more sustainable future for our planet and helping farmers around the world transition to regenerative agriculture practices.
Finally, I am excited to tell Andie that I did my part to create a more resilient future.
P.S. I’m hiring!
