Farming practices have changed significantly over the last century. Farms and agricultural systems have become more yield-focused and less environmentally sustainable — built to fit the needs of our growing population, rather than the needs of our Earth.
People have guided this agricultural transition. However, as a whole we did not anticipate the negative impact it would have on our environment. Now, we have the power to build more resilience in our food systems — to promote a transition to sustainable practices, support stability in our ecosystems, and reduce our harm to the environment.
In a recent episode of the ProAgni Australia podcast, Regrow CEO and Co-Founder Anastasia Volkova speaks with Ashley Sweeting about the power people hold in building resilient food systems. She also discusses the reality of ‘cheap food,’ and why the Ukraine invasion’s impact on our food system shouldn’t come as a surprise.
